Book
of the Month: The book of the month
for January is The Penny House by Dirk Wales. The theme of this book is to help those that
are less fortunate. This does not mean
only monetarily but perhaps helping those struggling with grades, self-esteem,
friendship, etc. Let’s do what Jesus
would do!!!
Thank
you! Thank you to everyone
who sent in goodies for the staff before Christmas. Everyone enjoyed them so much. We hope that everyone had a safe and blessed
holiday and best wishes for the New Year!
Parish
Mission: OLSS will host a Parish Mission
beginning Sunday, February 17, through Wednesday, February 20, 2008, at 7:00 pm
in the church. A special Children’s
Liturgy will also be offered each evening for grades PreK-4 through 5th
grade. Free babysitting will be provided
for children 4-years old and younger. The
school will be celebrating mass on Tuesday, February 19th
instead of Friday, February 22nd.
So mark your calendars now and plan to bring the entire family! What a lovely way to start our New Year by
renewing our faith. More details will be
announced soon.
Calendars: Don’t throw away your
2007 calendars! Recycle! The Art room
will be happy to add old calendar pictures to our classroom “Idea Bank”. Please send in your old calendars for use in
our many art projects. Thank you!

meetings will now take place on the second Monday of every month for the

for all officers and class representatives will be held from 3:00-3:45 pm in
the upstairs cafeteria. Upcoming meeting
dates are: January 14th,

Coffee
cans: Miss Parliment
is collecting large coffee cans for a Catholic Schools Week project. If you have any empty coffee cans please send
them in to the front office. Thank you.
Parents:
Ø If your child is absent, the parent/guardian should call the school with
the reason for the absence before 8:20 am.
If the teacher reports a child absent, and the office has not received a
call notifying the school of the absence, the office staff will call the
parent/guardians to verify the absence.
Ø If you are planning a trip or if your child(ren) will be out of school for one or more days, a
pre-planned absence form must be completed and signed by your child’s teachers
and Mrs. Earp. If the request is
denied, and the student is absent during that time period, the absence will be
considered unexcused and the student will receive a grade zero on all work
missed. (see parent/student handbook
page 9)
Ø Any student being picked up before their release time must
be signed out in the front office. Reminder:
Middle School students are not released until 3:00.
Ø Please be aware that we are a private facility and solicitation is
prohibited. Any and all flyers must
be approved by Mrs. Earp and/or Mrs. Donahue.
