Thursday Update
Unified in
Faith, Respect and Service
Our soul waits for
the Lord; He is our help and shield. Let Thy steadfast
love, O Lord, be upon us, even as we hope in Thee. ~Psalms 33:
20-22~ C-Project: “Blessed are they who hunger and
thirst for righteousness, for they will be satisfied.” Beatitudes for Kids, 12
Registration
Curriculum Fee of $418 per student is due
by March 3, 2008.
REMINDER: THERE WILL NOT BE A CHILDREN’S MASS
TOMORROW, FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 22ND.
Parents:
Ø We have noticed an increasing number of parents using cell phones when
picking children up at carpool. This is
extremely dangerous. Please tell any
authorized person that will be picking up your child, to please adhere to the
carpool rules and turn off all cell phones while in carpool.
Ø Supporting parishioners are defined as those families that are registered
Catholic parishioners of Our Lady Star of the Sea parish. Please be aware that contributions to the
parish must be through the use of offertory envelopes, with your family name,
made to the first collection of the Mass.
Ø Absences: The parent/guardian should call
the school with the reason for the absence before 8:20 am. If the teacher reports a child absent, and
the office has not received a call notifying the school of the absence, the
office staff will call the parent/guardians to verify the absence. (page 9 in the parent/student handbook)
Ø If your middle school student needs to contact you, they will be given a
message from the front office that will be posted on the middle school message
board. It is then their responsibility
to check the board and come to the front office to make their phone call. Students are no longer allowed
to use the phones in the classrooms or lunchrooms.
Don’t
Forget to Purchase Your Yearbooks! The 2007-2008 Palmer Yearbooks have been
ordered. If you did not pre-order your
yearbooks, there are still some available for $40.00. Please send your order forms in with your
payment to the office. More order
envelopes are available in the office.
Yearbooks will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. 8th Graders will be given
priority.
Book
of the Month: The book of the month
for February is Somebody Loves You, Mr.
Hatch by Eileen Spinelli. The theme of this book is love and
kindness. This book gives us a clear
idea of what kindness can do for a person and how it can change his/her
life. It is the perfect book to follow
last month’s theme. What a great lesson
to our students that if we all try and reach out to everybody (even those that
we are not sure about!) we may just help someone realize their worth!
Thank
you! Thank you to the HSA for the
amazing luncheon they provided for the staff yesterday. It was thoroughly enjoyed by all!
Italian
Dinner Night: Hold the date! This year’s Italian Dinner night will be held
April 15th in the Cultural Center.
Our first planning meeting will be tomorrow, Friday, February 22nd
at 9:00 am in the Browning Center.
Please come and help us plan this wonderful school and parish fellowship
event! It is guaranteed to be a fun
family night!
