C-Project:  Beatitude:  “Blessed are those who are persecuted for the sake of righteousness, for theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven.”   When those individuals who stay true to their beliefs, are disrespected and treated poorly; God will reward them with a place in Heaven.  (We Believe, 35)

Parents:  Just a reminder:  please respect the rights and property of each and every one of our surrounding communities and remain good and thoughtful neighbors.  During peak hours of drop-0ff and pick up times, do not make u-turns in the surrounding neighborhoods.  Thank you.

ITBS Testing:  Second grade will be taking the Iowa Test of Basic Skills next week from March 3rd – 6th.  The week will begin with a practice test on Monday and will continue with the core battery of tests on Tuesday – Thursday.  Parents please make sure that your 2nd grader receives a good night sleep and a healthy breakfast each morning of testing.

Parents:

Ø  We have noticed an increasing number of parents using cell phones when picking children up at carpool.  This is extremely dangerous.  Please tell any authorized person that will be picking up your child, to please adhere to the carpool rules and turn off all cell phones while in carpool.

Ø  Absences:  The parent/guardian should call the school with the reason for the absence before 8:20 am.  If the teacher reports a child absent, and the office has not received a call notifying the school of the absence, the office staff will call the parent/guardians to verify the absence.  (page 9 in the parent/student handbook)

Don’t Forget to Purchase Your Yearbooks!  The 2007-2008 Palmer Yearbooks have been ordered.  If you did not pre-order your yearbooks, there are still some available for $40.00.  Please send your order forms in with your payment to the office.  More order envelopes are available in the office.  Yearbooks will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.  8th Graders will be given priority.

Book of the Month:  The book of the month for March is The Quiltmaker’s Gift by Jeff Brumbeau.  The theme of this book is to give to the poor; you will be richer for it.  It isn’t about money and wealth, it is also so important to give of yourself and your gifts.  Spread the wealth – be kind to someone today!

Italian Dinner Night:  Hold the date!  This year’s Italian Dinner night will be held April 15th in the Cultural Center.  Please come and help us plan this wonderful school and parish fellowship event!  It is guaranteed to be a fun family night!
