2008 Angel “Masked” Ball |
SAVE THE
DATE! Saturday,October
25, 2008–Angel Masked Ball The
date has been set and the FUN
has begun. The Angel Ball is Palmer’s #1 FUNdraiser and all our families need to join in
the FUN. Along with selling
your raffle tickets (to be sent out this summer so you can get a jump start
on your sales), you must either procure an item for the Auction or sign up to
work on one of the committees. We all
look forward to the fellowship and FUN!! ¨ Now accepting gently used or
new furniture/items for our children’s art projects. We will be collecting them all through the
summer for our children’s classes to decorate in the Fall. We
have already started procuring items … many thanks to those already involved! ¨ Call Palmer front
office with questions. |
C-Project: Beatitude: “Blessed are the
clean of heart, for they will see God.”
Book
of the Month: The book of the month
for May is The Raft by Jim LaMarche.
What a terrific theme to send the students off to their summer
adventures. A wonderful time can be
found in the simplest things. You don’t
need to spend $100.00 for a ticket to Universal theme park and a fast pass for
fun. A rafting trip down a river, a
sleep out under the stars can be more fulfilling. Today’s society looks for instant
gratification but when it is done, the feeling of contentment never stays long,
so the search continues. Nature offers
us a never-ending show that is constantly changing. This book emphasizes last month’s theme, take
care of what we have, it is worth it.
Xtreme Readers: The final Xtreme
Reader party of the year will be May 15th after school. The Library Ladies will be serving up Ice
Cream Sundaes! Parents, if your 3rd,
4th or 5th grade student is reading toward this OPTIONAL
goal, please remind them to pass three quizzes before May 14th. For more information, go to Palmer’s website,
click on the Media Center link, and click on the Xtreme Reading link.

with a nice shirt. Girls should wear a
