Unified in Faith, Respect and Service

See what love the Father has given us, that we should be called children of God; and so we are.

The reason why the world does not know us is that it did not know Him.

~1 John 3: 1~

C-Project:  Beatitude: “Blessed are the poor in spirit; for theirs is the kingdom of heaven”.

Great Bible Reef:  Show love for others by truly helping them.  ~John 3:18~

Book of the Month:  The book of the month for November is Knots on a Counting Rope by Bill Martin Jr. and John Archambault.  The themes of this book are families, traditions, Native Americans and perseverance despite obstacles.

Parents:

Ø  All students are required to attend mass on Fridays.  If for some reason your child/children do not attend mass, we ask that they are not dropped off at the school before 9:50.  There will be no one at the school that can supervise your child/children.

Ø  Due to the warmer weather, we have seen a couple of cases of Chicken Pox.  Please be aware of this when your child/children say that they are not feeling well.

Book Fair Countdown:  It is less than one month until the Blizzard of Books hits our school.  Please mark your calendars to attend our Family Event on Wednesday, November 28th from 4:30 pm to 7:00 pm.  This celebration of reading features books, games, events and photo opportunities.  You won’t want to miss it.

Lazzara Orthodontics:  Palmer parent, Dr. John Lazzara, has recently established an orthodontic practice in South Jacksonville Beach.  October is National Orthodontic Health Month, and in recognition, Dr. Lazzara is offering a 10% discount for all Palmer families until December 31, 2007.  Please call Dr. Lazzara at 270-8750 to schedule a free consultation, including x-rays, or visit www.beachesbraces.com for more information.

Seventh and Eighth graders who qualify to apply for admission to the NJHS have been notified by mail and must pick up their application packet by 3:00 pm on November 2, 2007.  Achievement of a cumulative grade point average of 3.75 in 6th, 7th and 8th grade qualifies a student to apply for admission to the NJHS; however, acceptance into the society is also based upon Character, Service, Leadership and Citizenship.
