Thursday Update
Unified in
Faith, Respect and Service
In the sixth month
the angel Gabriel was sent from God to a city of Galilee named Nazareth, to
a virgin betrothed to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David;
and the virgin’s name was Mary. And
he came to her and said, “Hail, full of grace, the Lord is with you!” ~Luke 1: 26-28~ C-Project:
Beatitude: “Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy”.
Letters have
been sent from the parish office regarding your financial parish contributions
for 2007. Please be aware that families
are required to meet supporting parishioner criteria by December 31, 2007, (refer
to registration flyer) in order to qualify for the supporting parish family
tuition rate for the 2008-2009 school year.
|
Registration: All currently enrolled
families must register for the 2008-2009 school year. Registration forms have been mailed and the
form and registration fee will be due back by tomorrow, December 14th to secure your
students’ spots for next year. If
we do not receive your registration information, we will assume that
you are not returning for the upcoming year and therefore your child’s spot
will be open to the public. Registration
priority will be given in the following sequence. 1. Current students of
the school/siblings of current students/students of school employees. 2. Preferential option
for Our Lady Star of the Sea parish preschool, Little Stars Preschool. (All siblings will be considered, but siblings
coming from Little Stars will get first choice). 3. Supporting
parishioners of Our Lady Star of the Sea parish. 4. Catholic families
relocating to our parish from out-of-town continuing a Catholic
education for their child(ren). |

Bible Reef: Show love for others
by truly helping them. ~John 3:18~
Book
of the Month: The book of the month
for December is The Crippled Lamb by Max Lucado. The theme of this book is that God has a plan
for us all. It may not be obvious at
first, but if we have faith, it will be revealed to us. Look for your gift – it’s there!
Thank
you! Thank you so much to the HSA for
the beautiful Christmas Luncheon that they provided for the staff on
Wednesday. Everything was so
delicious!! We wish all of you a very
Merry Christmas and a safe and healthy New Year!
Parents:
Ø If your child is absent, the parent/guardian should call the school with
the reason for the absence before 8:20 am.
If the teacher reports a child absent, and the office has not received a
call notifying the school of the absence, the office staff will call the
parent/guardians to verify the absence.
Ø Please note: we are only accepting registration fees for returning
students at this time.
Registration fees for new students will be collected in January. We apologize for the error on our Family
Registration Forms.
Ø Middle School Mid Terms will be Monday, December 17th;
Tuesday, December 18th and Wednesday, December 19th. Please be aware that if your child(ren) are
absent on any of these days they must do make up exams before we
break for Christmas.
Ø If you are planning a trip or if your child(ren) will be out of school
for an extended length of time, a pre-planned absence form must be completed
and signed by your child’s teachers and Mrs. Earp. If the request is denied, and the student
is absent during that time period, the absence will be considered unexcused and
the student will receive a grade zero on all work missed. (see parent/student handbook page 9)
Ø Any student being picked up before their release time must
be signed out in the front office. Reminder:
Middle School students are not released until 3:00.
Early Release Day: Wednesday, December 19th
will be an early release day. Dismissals
will begin at 1:00 with Middle School dismissing at 1:30. There will be No Angels After Hours.
